A new function will be available on Menzies Distribution’s mobile app from next week, which will allow customers to manage their magazine accounts via their smartphones for the first time.
The i-Menzies app upgrade will enable customers to amend orders and make credit enquiries regarding their magazine accounts – an extension of the current functions available for newspaper accounts.
Menzies Distribution’s Commercial and Marketing Director, David Cooke, said: “The most popular function on our app is amending newspaper orders, so the logical step was to make this function available for magazines as well.
“Our figures show an increasing number of retailers want to use their smartphones to manage their businesses. The i-Menzies app reached a record number of downloads in July, with a total of 2,700 stores making nearly 22,000 transactions, so this upgrade has come at the perfect time.”
More than 70 per cent of i-Menzies downloads have been made via the iTunes store for customers with Apple iPhones, and more than two-thirds of the total users are independent retailers.
The latest upgrade will be available to download from iTunes and Google Play.
