AIR FREIGHT

Our air freight business is controlled from the Heathrow office, handling diverse consignments. With 40 years’ experience, the business has the expertise to ensure prompt delivery, operating same day deliveries for urgent shipments on arrival. Menzies Distribution Logistics is IATA /FIATA registered.

The business prides itself on the high level of personal service sometimes missing in larger network providers and for that reason we are often entrusted with high value cargo and sensitive shipments. Our air business is rapidly increasing for energy and engineering customers, delivering exceptional levels of service.

OCEAN FREIGHT

We believe in providing our customers with options and transparency and are therefore able to avoid any hidden costs and penalties which can often beset container shipments. Working with our liner partners, we negotiate the best terms taking into account capacity, and validity as well as price in order to ensure continuity is maintained. We are increasingly handling cross trade business especially in the US and Asia, where existing customers recognise our commitment to service.

We understand that price and service volatility can cause more disruption and cost than other factors and ensure that a smooth service is our primary objective.

EUROPEAN ROAD FREIGHT

Our European Control Tower is the result of many years’ experience in handling European shipments where control of delivery and documents is critical to a timely, cost effective service. We provide control and reporting on consignments against agreed processes and KPIs, working with carefully selected partners.

Both FTL and LTL shipments are managed. We also arrange temperature controlled shipments for raw materials, along with arranging bulk shipments. We handle the movement from receipt of sales order through booking to confirmation of delivery.

VALUE ADDED SERVICES

CUSTOMS CLEARANCE & DOCUMENTATION

Timely and accurate documents are paramount to avoid delays and penalties on international shipments. Menzies prides itself on eliminating errors to ensure transactions are processed as planned covering:

Customs clearance
Bonded warehousing and transit
Accurate entries

Menzies Distribution Logistics Ltd are connected to HMRC and the community networks in all major UK ports and airports allowing the customs entries to be transmitted electronically.

We offer use of a Duty Deferment account so imports can be handled by customers who wish to manage cash flow and who may not enjoy the benefits of this facility themselves. We are also able to arrange cargo insurance if required.

The understanding of our customer’s business built up over 5 years of personal service means that we can respond quickly to new requirements, supplying new markets wherever they are in the world. We ensure efficient clearance and delivery to avoid unnecessary risk to the supply chain.

INGREDIENTS TO EUROPE

We handle daily delivery of ingredients throughout Europe, meeting the high standards in delivery performance and document control required by the food industry.

We also manages the collection of returnable IBCs.

Our business in this sector relies on the high level of service and significant experience which means that our customers entrust us with their sensitive shipments.

COMPONENTS FOR POWER GENERATION

The security of supply for the nuclear industry is critical and our customer of 10 years entrusts us with the shipment of key components for maintenance and shutdown. The airfreight team handle the complex documentation and urgent delivery requirements to and from the US with dedicated support 24 hours per day when required.

WHEELS IN MOTION

Collection of rail assemblies in Northern China to be delivered for manufacture in Europe and the US is routine for Menzies Distribution Logistics. In order to optimise delivery and cost, we organise the transshipment of the components onto flat bed trailers dealing with out of gauge (OOG) and ensuring no demurrage or detention for the customer. Deliveries are carefully coordinated to ensure no disruption to production.
